The maidsafe Foundation is being registered as a charity. The Foundation will be born from the
successes of the maidsafe.net product and is responsible for generating successes in the world.
These will range from commercial successes with innovation to human success such as creating a
school in a poorer part of Africa as an example.
The maidsafe Foundation provides a service as a patent-holding company to protect intellectual
assets and allow a degree of protection for companies and their prospective investors.
The Foundation intends to have a string of innovation centres and states it is in the high-risk,
non-traditional market of innovation, with little interest in polished business plans and clear
desires in assisting inventors from all aspects of life in all aspects of invention. They will
offer 100% business support to inventions but not necessarily inventors and that's the
difference. Inventors will become involved in the business of manufacture and marketing of the
invention as they desire or get a smaller stake in profits and continue with their next great
invention. In any case the profits will be used to fund additional innovation.
The Foundation will be a self-sustaining organisation which will raise money from profits of
commercial entities to invest into philanthropic efforts. The Foundation will raise additional
funding through donations and royalties from maidsafe.net technologies.
